Admission Procedure for M.Sc. (Environment Science) |

1.Introduction
- Students will be admitted to MSc Environment Science in the Institute of Environment Education, of Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the CET-MEVS- 2008.
- CET-MEVS-2008 will be conducted on 28/06/2008 from 11.00 am to 02.00 pm at the examination centres in the following cities.
- Pune
- Navi Mumbai
- New Delhi
- There will be one question paper, set in English medium containing 200 objective type questions. Questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed for the test. The weightage given for subjects will be as follows:

2. Eligibility for appearing in CET-MEVS-2008 and subsequent admission
- The candidate should have passed:
- The Bachelors examination from any recognised university or its equivalent examination with any of the following subjects Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Geology, Geography, Life Sciences, Fisheries Science, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and
- Secured minimum 50% marks (45% is case of SC/ST candidates) in the above mentioned examination.
- Candidates who have appeared or who are likely to appear for the qualifying examination i.e. B.Sc or equivalent but whose results have not been as yet declared can also appear for this entrance test provided they have offered the mentioned subjects at the said examination.
- The candidate must have appeared for the All India Entrance Test i.e. MEVS 2008 conducted by this University.

3. Annual Intake
The annual intake of First Year M.Sc. Environment Science course is 40 students. 15 % seats will be kept reserved for ‘Management’ category. The application for consideration under the Management category will be made on prescribed format kept in the office of the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune.
Reservations will be as per directives of the Government of India (MHRD).

4. Admission forms
Forms for the CET-MEVS are available at the places mentioned above on payment of Rs. 500/- in Cash and Rs. 700/- by post. Entrance Test Fee is Rs. 600/- . All Fees are Non Refundable.
Completed application form must be accompanied by CET-MEVS- 2008 fee of Rs. 600/-. In case of late submission, late fees of Rs 200/- should be included. It should be submitted either in person (in which case the fee can be paid by cash) or mailed (in which case the fee should be paid by Demand Draft of Rs. 700/- and in case of late submission (Rs. 200/- additional late fees) drawn on any nationalized bank payable at Pune, in favour of Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, to the following:

- The Candidate should invariably mention the number of his application form (as printed on it) and his/her name on the reverse of the Demand Draft.
- The application sent by mail must be sent by registered post / speed post / courier.
- The application must reach either by hand or by mail to the above address on or before 13/06/2008 by 05.00 pm.
An incomplete application form or an application form which is not accompanied by a demand draft of the prescribed CET-MEVS-2008 fee of Rs. 600/- will not be entertained and processed. This fee should not be sent by money order. Please note that this fee is non-refundable.

5. Mode of the test
- The examination consists of one paper with 200 objective type questions, based on the prescribed syllabus. The paper will have two sections. Section I will consist of 100 questions based on environment and general environment issues. Section II will consist 100 questions based on botany, zoology, chemistry, physics, geology, geography and mathematics. Duration of the examination is 180 mins. (3 hours). Each correct answer will get one mark. There is negative marking.

| 6. Results of the CET
Results will be declared on 9/7/08 at the respective centres and at the main office of Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune. It will also be available on our website http//www.bharatividyapeeth.edu.
